  Im Mythos geht es um die wesentlichsten Fragen des Seins. Erschaffung der Welt, Sinn des Lebens, Woher kommt der Mensch, Tod und ethische Fragen.  Götter erscheinen gerne in Form eines Stieres. In dieser Geschichte beeindruckt der schöne starke Stier die jungfräuliche Europa. Lässt sich streicheln und kaum sitzt sie auf seinem Rücken, rennt er los, entführt und vergewaltigt sie. Dieser Stier ist Zeus.                                                      Dieses Bild entstand, weil es mich beschäftigt, dass Nymphen ständig von Göttern vergewaltigt werden in den allermeisten Mythen. Die Statuen fliehen von ihren Sockeln, weil sie wissen was passieren wird. Hat diese patriarchalische Kultur eigentlich wirklich je ein Ende gefunden?           

 The myth is about the most essential questions of being. Creation of the world, meaning of life, where does man come from, death and ethical issues.  Gods like to appear in the form of a bull. In this story, the beautiful strong Taurus impresses the virgin Europe. He lets himself be stroked and as soon as she sits on his back, he runs off, kidnaps and rapes her. That bull is Zeus. This picture came about because I am concerned that nymphs are constantly raped by gods in the vast majority of myths. The statues flee from their pedestals because they know what's going to happen. Has this patriarchal culture really ever come to an end?

 Vielleicht hast Du schon von Platons Höhlengleichnis gehört. Mit einem Feuer im Rücken siehst Du nur die Schatten der Gegenstände, die vor Dir als Schatten an die Wand geworfen werden. Für Dich ist es die Realität, denn Du weißt nichts von dem Feuer! Hier seht Ihr Sokrates, verschwommen und verzerrt, vielleicht nicht real? Er malt intuitiv sein eigenes Hinrichtungsdatum. War er doch, durch die Verkündigung der Wahrheit eine Gefahr für die Jungend, ja dem Volke.                   

Das Erwachen des Bewusstseins !                                                    Wenn ich Volk schreibe, heißt das privilegierte Männer!       

Frauen, Slaven und Kinder zählten selbstverständlich nichts in der Zeit Platons. (428 v.Chr.-347 v.Chr.)             Im Rahmen der Kunstgeschichte erwachte mein Bewusstsein dafür, ab wann mit dem Begriff "Volk" wohl jeder Mensch gemeint ist !!!   

 You may have heard of Plato's Allegory of the Cave. With a fire behind you, you only see the shadows of the objects that are cast as shadows on the wall in front of you. For you, it's reality, because you don't know anything about the fire! Here you see Socrates, blurred and distorted, maybe not real? He intuitively paints his own execution date. After all, by proclaiming the truth, he was a danger to the young, indeed to the people.    The awakening of consciousness ! When I write people, it means privileged men!  Women, Slavs and children, of course, counted for nothing in Plato's time. (428 B.C.-347 B.C.)  In the context of art history, I became aware of when the term "people" probably meant every human being !!

Ich muss  überlegen wie ich eloquent erkläre, dass ich "eigentlich" die Idee dieses Bildes, nach einem Präsenzwochenende an der Universität, aus dem Papierkorb geklaut, durchdacht und künstlerisch umgesetzt habe.

Wer genau wissen will, was es bedeutet muss "Quante" lesen!

 I have to think about how to explain eloquently that I "actually" stole the idea of this picture from the trash after a weekend of attendance at the university, thought it through and implemented it artistically.

If you want to know exactly what it means, you have to read "Quante"!

In einem sicheren Raum, hoch oben über Sodom und Gomorra, wollte ich alles in Sicherheit bringen, was "gut" ist. Eine höhere Gewalt wacht darüber und wehrt das "Schlechte" ab. Es gibt mehrere Wege in den sicheren Raum zu gelangen. (Boot und Heißluftballon) Bis jetzt sind ein paar Heilige , Kermit, musizierende Schnecken, ein Ei, Tiere, und das "Schöne" angereist. 

Werden auch Menschen ankommen? Das frag´ ich mich. 

In a safe room, high above Sodom and Gomorrah, I wanted to keep everything that was "good" safe. A force majeure watches over it and wards off the "bad". There are several ways to get into the safe room. (boat and hot air balloon) So far, a few saints, kermit, music-making snails, an egg, animals, and the "beautiful" have arrived. 

Will people also arrive? That's what I ask myself.

Wir sind gefangen in unseren eigenem Gefängnis. Wenn wir einen Schritt zurück gehen würden, würden wir erkennen, dass wir aus der Box entfliehen können.  Ganz einfach. Mit der Erkenntnis, dass wir uns befreien müssen von unseren eigenen Mauern, um so denken zu können, wir wir denken würden, wenn wir ganz frei wären. Als wäre uns nie etwas Schlechtes widerfahren.

We are trapped in our own prison. If we were to take a step back, we would realize that we can escape from the box.  Easy. With the realization that we have to free ourselves from our own walls in order to be able to think the way we would think if we were completely free. As if nothing bad had ever happened to us.

   Wir müssen wissen, woher wir kommen, um zu wissen wer wir sind und wohin wir gehen wollen. Getragen in der Gegenwart von Seelen der Vergangenheit, mit all Ihren Verflechtungen in unserem Leben, sind wir nie alleine.

Wir sind nur ein Faden in der Decke unsere eigenen Geschichte.                                                                          Auch dieser Ritter erkennt, dass er für seine Handlungen einen guten Grund hat. Etwas, was ihn antreibt und etwas was ihm sagt, dass er nicht alleine ist!               

We need to know where we come from in order to know who we are and where we want to go. Carried in the presence of souls of the past, with all their intertwinings in our lives, we are never alone.

We are just a thread in the blanket of our own story. This knight also realizes that he has a good reason for his actions.   Something that drives him and something that tells him that he is not alone!

                                                                                            Wir sind was wir sind und segeln auf den eigenen Erkenntnissen und Erfahrungen durch unser Leben, bis die Erkenntnisse immer mehr werden und die Zeit immer kürzer. Am Ende wissen wir, dass wir eigentlich gar nichts wissen und das uns nichts auf dieser Welt gehört. 

We are what we are and sail through our lives on our own insights and experiences until the insights become more and more and the time is shorter and shorter. In the end, we know that we don't really know anything and that nothing in this world belongs to us.

Sie liebt ihren goldenen Haarkranz aber wagt es nur ihn zu tragen, wenn es Niemand sehen kann und sie absolut alleine ist. Also nur, wenn man das Bild zuklappt. Möge sie sich irgendwann von ihren Fesseln befreien können!

She had been taught to be modest, modest, obedient and quiet. She loves her golden hair but only dares to wear it when no one can see it and she is absolutely alone. So only if you close the picture.
